P C Henderson was delighted to celebrate our 96th birthday last Friday, 24th February. From humble beginnings in 1921 when the company was set up with three staff members, an office and a small warehouse, P C Henderson has evolved and grown dramatically over the years. One thing that has not changed is our ultimate goal and focus to provide market leading sliding door solutions across the globe.
Let’s take a look at some key moments over the years…
P C Henderson now operates a major manufacturing plant in Bowburn, County Durham. We also have two subsidiaries in Holland and Ireland, as well as an export department that supplies our products and services to over 80 countries worldwide.
To continue with the business expansion, we joined Assa Abloy in 2011. More recently, P C Henderson appointed Trevor Cossins in 2016 as our new Managing Director to lead the business into our next chapter of growth and development, establishing Henderson as the supplier of choice for customers both in the UK and overseas.
Part of our sustained growth strategy is constant product development and innovation which has led to some major game-changing product launches. The most notable introduction was the launch of Securefold in 2010 – a flagship product for P C Henderson and its most innovative and most popular product to date.
A market leader, the Securefold folding door hardware range has been expanded to include four distinct product variations. For example, our Securefold Ultra product features innovative, enhanced security components to make it one of the most secure systems on the market. Other key product launches include Evolve, our first automated system, Husky, Pocket Door, Roomflex and Rustic 80 – all of which contribute to an extensive portfolio of over 60 unique products as well as a wide range of accessories.
As part of P C Henderson’s efforts to gain global prominence, we also recently launched our new website which was re-designed to be more user friendly and modern. The refresh and addition of enhanced functionality was necessary to match our advancements in product and service provision, giving its wide range of customers the specific information they require at their fingertips. We are currently in the process of updating the website for a number of other countries with plans to launch these in the coming months.
A continual investment in Research & Development to launch both new and enhanced products, high quality customer service delivery and continually listening to its customer base is what keeps P C Henderson going from strength to strength.
With our 100th anniversary only four years away, we have a strong focus on increasing our presence across the continent and have recently appointed a European Business Development Manager to assist in achieving this goal. We also look to increase our growth in the USA with an overall arching aim to have the Henderson name synonymous for sliding gear systems across the globe.
